Facebook is working harder to reach you than you are doing to reach FB even when you are at work. Facebook has launched its Android and IOS apps “Facebook at Work” that might replace conventional IMs currently being used in offices.
“Facebook at Work” is the version of Facebook designed for office environment. Similar to Facebook Messenger “Facebook at Work” will also have “Work Chat” that will allows coworkers to message each other individually, to participate in group chats, share photos and videos and make voice calls.
“Facebook At Work” has been in private testing since its unveiling in month of January and many companies are using it as testing partner with Facebook. Facebook has around 300 businesses using its “Facebook At Work” currently
Like facebook messenger is available as separate app than fb app, “Work Chat” is available on Google Play store, but is only available to users currently testing the “Facebook At Work” service.
“Facebook at Work’s strength is that we’ve spent ten years and incorporated feedback from 1 billion active users, All of that is embedded now in the same product but adapted for different use cases.”
And it’s actually used by staff. “When Mark [Zuckerberg, the CEO] makes an announcement he just posts it on Facebook at Work,” Rasmussen
Employers can set up new accounts for their staff to use on the platform. Users can choose to link their personal and work accounts together.
Facebook at work also allow discussions, announcements, document sharing, groups, project collaborations and events, etc.
