Gone are the days when you have to book go to Ola app or its website to book cabs. Now you can book Ola cabs while booking a trip with MakeMyTrip or while chatting on HelpChat and you will not be routed to Ola App/Site.
Ola opens up its API to be integrated with other platforms
Ola has opened its API to integrate with leading brands InMobi, Helpchat, MakeMyTrip and Samsung, allowing major mobile applications as well as individual developers, to integrate Ola’s offering onto their platforms. It includes integrations across ride availability, estimation, booking and tracking, allowing partners to their experience for their users with Ola.
Ola estimates to touch a user base of over a 100 Mn from its API partners over the next 2 years. Many other mobile apps and technology brands are also working on integrating Ola’s API. With this Ola would beyond the app in reaching out to more users from partner brands.
This is a part of Ola’s first API hackathon, conducted in Banglore today. About 250 experienced professionals and startup enthusiasts were shortlisted to participate from about 1,500-2000 registrations received.
To provide an end-to-end solution to a consumer, you need to open up the technology. We wanted to provide an integrated experience to the consumer, and this is what gave rise to the open API.
