Order, pay and tip on your own time only with GetSeated, we are The Uber of Food and Beverages.
How It Started:
Neeraj Sathyanarayana, Sharing the story behind start of GetSeated. Back from California for a vacation he was out with few friends on a Saturday night in Bengaluru, he entered the place and it was packed, getting a table was way above his expectation, he just wanted to order food and drink and he was not able to find a waiter, he had to go to the bar and place order, it literally took more than 30 to 40 minutes for him to get his order.
He was initially frustrated with the place, waiting in the bar counter with people pushing and spilling drinks on each other it was like a havoc, he thought this place was poorly management, he wasted 30 to 40 minutes rather, He could have spent time with his friends. While picking up his order, he heard a couple of bartenders talking to each other that how difficult it is to manage and serve the crowd during weekends and because of which both customers and businesses were unhappy. He saw a clear problem existing at both the sides, there was no platform to connect business and customers, That’s were the idea stuck if he could connect them and change the current experience of customers in restaurants, bars, café etc, which let to start of GetSeated.
Products:
GetSeated: It’s a discovery platform for customers were they would be able to discover restaurants, cafes, bars, fast food and desserts in Bangalore. We want to keep this simple, clean with no Ads.
SeatedIn: Is connectivity platform where customers can connect with business owners with POS, we are working on a Bluetooth technology which would connect customers and business owners to take the order and service to the next level. We are in Beta testing and will have a pilot launch in Bangalore soon.
GetDelivered: There are close to 35 to 40 own kitchen delivery startups in Bangalore, it gets really difficult and confusing for customers to place order for delivery, GetDelivered is a single platform for delivery startups who have their own kitchen, now customers can browse through our delivery partners based on meal category, offers, dishes compare and place a suitable meal.
Opportunity
India is host to the highest number of pubs in Asia. Restaurants and Bars host a ton of crowd on any given day of the week during peek hours and weekends are always crowded. Food and Beverage industry has been the most unorganized industry in India, this is mainly due to two reasons, 1) Lack of knowledge transfer to business owners. 2) Resistance to change and adapt to new technology, with GetSeated and SeatedIn we want to to be the first to have food and beverage industry organized.
Future:
We want GetSeated, to be Uber of Food and Beverages. No more waiting, once you are Seated In bar, lounge, restaurants or café. With our technology, waiting and queuing seems pointless when you will experience the ease of ordering directly from your phone and seeing what you are about to eat or drink. It would be like, being on Google and seeing the pictures of what the restaurants or bar offers, but being able to buy it on the spot through a one click-transaction is what GetSeated can do.
The Team:
We have an amazing team with the vision to connect business and customers. Team of 8, were 6 of us are in Bangalore and other cofounders Alfred and Arcadius are in Boston working on the launch in Boston area. Our team has been great support in shaping all the products.
